Waves

The best drama in the Acadian landscape comes from the waves along its rugged coast. On the right day, they can be nothing short of spectacular. Most of my wave prints are in black and white, to highlight the texture of the water as it shatters against the rocks. These images aren’t about beautiful colors, but are about power and force and drama. It always amazes me how different every wave can be, and how quickly they change in split seconds. Most of my other Acadia images are studies in quiet beauty; these are studies in raw energy. The noise, the power, the explosions against the rocks– it’s intoxicating. I could photograph these waves for hours… and have.
